Is Benji really free—what's the catch?
Yep, it's free to use. We only make money if you buy the Tax Report for $39—which is completely optional.
Can I file my business taxes with Benji?
No. We recommend using our Tax Report to file your taxes with a free tax software such as Wealthsimple Tax (or send it to your accountant).
Does Benji work with all Canadian banks?
We support all major banks, credit unions, and credit cards. If your bank isn't listed during sign up, let us know and we'll look into adding support.
How many bank accounts can I add?
You can connect as many bank accounts and credit cards as you have. We want you to get the full picture about your business finances.
Can I import transactions from last year?
Yes. Depending on your bank, you can usually import transactions from up to the last 18 months.
Is Benji available in all Canadian provinces?
Benji can be used across Canada with the exception of Quebec (for now). Désolé mes amis!
Doesn’t my accounting software already do this?
No. Benji auto-categorises your transactions with non-accounting terms, removes the guesswork out of what you can write-off, and estimates how much taxes you'll owe.
Does Benji store my banking credentials?
No. We don't collect or store your banking credentials. We use Plaid—same technology used by Wealthsimple and Shopify—to securely connect to your bank.
Can I write-off the Tax Report as an expense?
Absolutely! You can write off the $39 as a business expense. Pretty sweet, eh?
