Being a freelancer is a lot of work and it can be easy to forget a few key dates. To help you keep on top of your CRA commitments this year, we've put together a list of dates that we believe are important for Canadian freelancers like you.
Payment for GST/HST collected between October–December 2020 is due if you file your sales taxes on a quarterly basis.
The final date for your RRSP contributions to be eligible for the 2020 tax year.
Quarterly instalment payment for your income tax is due if you anticipate owing more than $3,000 at tax time in 2022.
This is the deadline to pay your taxes if you owe the government any money for the 2020 tax year. This includes your personal income tax as well as any GST/HST owed if you file on an annual basis.
Payment for GST/HST collected between January–March 2021 is due if you file your sales taxes on a quarterly basis.
Due date for self-employed individuals—this means you, freelancers—to file their 2020 income tax.
